Northrop Grumman Offering Workshops for Teachers in Preparation for Hour Code Initiative, Contest

For Immediate Release                                                        Contact: William Reinhard, 410-767-0486

Baltimore, MD (November 20, 2014)

Northrop Grumman and Code in the Schools will present 2 offerings of a professional development workshop for teachers to prepare them to participate in the National Hour of Code Initiative and Maryland Hour of Code Contest. The workshop will provide some “unplugged” (no computers required!) activity ideas to help you develop a plan for a cool Hour of Code.

The Hour of Code is an international event that has been drawing lots of attention. Northrop Grumman is interested in introducing as many students as possible to computational thinking.  We want to encourage you to participate and know that not everyone knows where to start.  If you are interested in introducing the Hour of Code into your school, or you know other teachers that may benefit from this training, please read the attached flyer, and forward it out to anyone you think may be interested.  This is a FREE event, but we do need you to register. Teachers of all grade levels are welcome.

Registration: Please reply to the Northrop Grumman Corporate Citizenship mailbox by choosing one of the following dates (Please include the date chosen in the subject line):

-        Saturday, November 22  @ Old Mill Middle School South (10 AM - 12 PM)

OR
