MSDE Announcement: Maryland State Board Of Education Seeks Firm To Assist In State Superintendent Search

The Maryland State Board of Education has issued a request for proposals for an executive search firm to assist in the search for the next State Superintendent of Schools.

Former State Superintendent Lillian M. Lowery left Maryland in September to take the lead of FutureReady Columbus, an Ohio-based education nonprofit.  Dr. Jack R. Smith, Maryland’s Chief Academic Officer for more than two years, has been serving as Interim State Superintendent of Schools.
