9:45 a.m.         Hearing: Baltimore City Maintenance of Effort
The State Board will hold a hearing on the City of Baltimore and the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners agreed upon maintenance of effort (MOE) waiver request.  The request stems from the city schools’ use of an incorrect enrollment figure in calculating its MOE.

The State Board is scheduled to act on a request to publish proposed amendments to the Maryland graduation requirements, including the addition of a fourth year of mathematics at the high school level.

11:30 a.m.       Social Studies Standards
The State Board will hear an update on the new C3 (College, Career, and Civic Life) Framework for social studies that board members will be asked to adopt in the coming months.  The C3 Framework adds rigor to social studies and is aligned to the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.

2 p.m.              Milken Award Winner

The State Board will be provided with an overview of the State plans to release a variety of reports and updates related to school discipline.
