Tuesday, March 10
9 a.m. - SXSW Education Policy Forum “What a Student Needs from a Teacher for Success”

Dr. Lowery will join former National Teacher of the Year Sean McComb -- a teacher at Patapsco High School in Baltimore County -- and University of Texas student Alisa Pham in a special panel to discuss ways classroom teachers can nurture habits, mindsets and determination in students.  Participants also will look at how education systems can better support teachers in this work.

Wednesday, March 11
12 p.m. - League of Women Voters Luncheon
West II Room, Miller Senate Office Building, 11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401
Dr. Lowery will discuss Maryland’s education priorities, including the need to eliminate the achievement gap.  She also will discuss current issues in education.

Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13
